Construction of gardens along the median section of the road by the government of Nepal is still pending.

Technicians, who earlier used to say the road needs no repair for the first five years, are shocked to find cracks surfacing at Thimi Chwok and Hanumante Bridge.

The 9.1km-Kathmandu-Bhaktapur section of the Araniko Highway

is the first six-lane road project in the country.

The project began in November 2008 with a budget of Rs. 1.99 billion. The Government of Japan has granted Rs. 1.77 billion whereas the government of Nepal contributed Rs. 211 million to the project.

पतिनाथ मन्दिर विश्व सम्पदा सुचिमा परेको नेपाली एक एतिहासिक हिन्दु मन्दिर हो। शहरको कोलाहलबाट टाढा पर्न नसकि, मानिसकै लापरबाहिले गर्दा आज यसको यस्तो हालत भएको छ। आज म साथिहरु सँग एउटा बिदेशी पहुनालाई घुमाउन पशुपतिनाथ पुगेको थिए, तर परिसर वरिपरिका भवनहरु पनि जिर्न अवस्थामा देखिए। अतिनै निश्चल बाग्मति अहिले ढल बग्ने मुल भएको, नदिमा लाश जलाएर बाँकि भएका कपडा, दाउराहरु यत्रतत्र फालिएका दृश्यहरु भेटिए। परम्परा, रीतिरिवाज पहिल्याउने कुरा राम्रो हो तर पुराना मठ मन्दिरको वेवास्ता गर्नु, नदि नाला प्रदुषण पर्नु यी कुरा कति पनि राम्रो होइन। सुनेको थिए पशुपतिनाथको गुठीमा धेरै सम्पति छन् रे तर खोइ त्यो पैसाको सदुपयोग गरेको?

आज पाहुनालाई पशुपतिनाथ घुमाउने क्रममा मैले त्यहाँ यस्तो द्रश्याहरु पाए।

नेपाल शेर्पा बिधार्थी मन्चका अध्यक्ष देण्डी शेर्पाले स्वागत मन्तब्य दिँदै शुरुवत भएको यस कार्यक्रममा प्रमुख अतिथी डा. ल्हाक्पा नुर्बु शेर्पाले छ्योमिन् बाली कार्यक्रमका उद्घघाटन गरेका थिए। शेर्पा कलाकार समाजका कलाकारहरुको रमाईलो शेर्पा न्रित्य संगै शुरु भएको यस कार्यक्रममा सैयौ शेर्पा बिधार्थीहरु लगायत अबिभाबकहरुको उल्लेखनिय उपास्थिती रहेको थियो।

शुभकामना मन्तब्य दिनु हुँदै बक्ताहरुले शेर्पा बिधार्थीहरुलाई कसरी अबको महत्वपुर्न खुड्किलाहरु कसरी अघि सार्ने भन्ने बारेमा महत्वपुर्न सुझावहरु दिएका थिए। यसै कार्यक्रममा बिश्वका चौधवटा अग्ला महत्वप्रुर्न हिमशिखरहरुको सफलता पुर्बक आरोहण गर्ने संखुवासभा मकालुका मिङ्मा शेर्पालाई सम्मान पत्र र खाता लगाई अभिनन्दन् गरेका थिए। शेर्पा दक्षिण एशियाकै पहिलो बिशेष आरोही हुनुहुन्छ।
कार्यक्रममा उत्क्रिष्ठ अंक ल्याउने दश जनालाई बिषेश अभिनन्दन गरेका थिए भने बाकी सबैलाई प्रमाण पत्र र खाताले अबिनन्दन गरेका थिए। २०० भन्दा बढी शेर्पा बिधार्थीहरु २०६८ सालमा एस. एल. सी. उतिर्ण भएको जानकारि प्राप्त भयो। नेपाल अधिराज्य भरिमा ९०.५% अङ्क लिएर पेम्बा याङ्जेन, शेर्पा शेर्पा समाजको उत्क्रिष्ठ छात्र बन्नुभयो। यसै गरि पासाङ शेर्पाले ८९.७५% अङ्क लिएर दोश्रो, सुसान शेर्पा लामाले ८९.६३% अङ्क लिएर तेश्रो हुनुभयो।

LIFE ENHANCING EDUCATION

Education is the most powerful instrument for reducing poverty and inequality and a foundation for sustainable economic growth. To uplift society, community, country everyone needs education and this factor determines to what extent the literacy rate is increasing. The main objective of education is imparting of knowledge, positive judgment and well-developed wisdom. Education has as one of its fundamental aspects the imparting of culture from generation to generation.
Education is the backbone of every society, country’s development as a whole. Every organization, NGOs, INGOs do have the program of educating the uneducated one. With this aim, Eekal mahila mukti aabhiyaan Nepal has introduced Eekal mahila mukti baikalpik vidhayala situated in Jorpati-6; Besigaun claimed that they are facilitating the women for education. Sabitri Regmi is the founder of this school was established in 10th magh 2065. Those women who can’t go to school due to family, economic or other reason they are attracted in the school. According to Surya Bahadur Rawat teaching those women for last 2 year, “we are trying our best to get them educated”. They started this institution with minimum amount of money to help uneducated women of the society. Now they were taking Rs.100 as admission fee and Rs.100 as monthly fee to maintain the institutional management. And this is the minimal amount of school fee in compare to government and private schools in our country. Sabitri Gegmi from ekal mahila states that government supports for the salary of 2-3 teachers only and all the expenditure are totally depends on the tuitions fees and other donations. They also claim that this institution is fully devoted to those women of society who are not able to go school due to their household problems. This institution is solely for educating women of society those who are always there to feed us with their warm motherly behavior dropping the opportunity of educating herself.
Basically, this institution has aim of educating women through six standards. First standard is below one class, second standard is of two and three classes, third standard consists of four and five classes, fourth standard belongs to six and seven classes, fifth standard consists eight class and finally at sixth standard nine and ten classes so in total all curriculum finishes in total of six year. Every year they will be attending three terms only if any student passes the standard she will be upgraded to another standard. Women preparing our meal, breakfast they can go to Eekal mahila mukti baikalpik vidhayala any time in morning, day or evening. Nepali, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies only five subjects to study. This is the basic part of every subject for further education.
This institution is an example struggling to educate and empower the women who can’t go to school. The founder of this institution Regmi said that she wanted women to learn how to read and write. Student ranges from 13 years of girl to 80 years old woman with the hope to educate themselves. My mother, she is forty five year old, joined this institution and now she is at class five. Her claim is she joined school to be able to read and write properly and could teach her grand children in the future A, B, C…..1, 2, 3.
The education system of Nepalese government is (1st to 5th Grade: Primary School: 5 years of studies, 6th to 7th Grade: Secondary School: 2 years of studies, 8th to 10th Grade: Upper Secondary School 3 years of studies and further years of classes after completing school. The final examination known as School Leaving certificate (SLC) given on the final year of 10th grade of high school decides whether one will make it to the colleges or not. SLC is one of the most serious examinations and the most talked about exam in Nepal. The goal of primary education was to teach reading, writing, and arithmetic, and to cultivate discipline and hygiene among students. Lower-secondary education emphasized character formation, a positive attitude toward manual labor, and perseverance. Higher-secondary education stressed manpower requirements and preparation for higher education.
This is the different factor among the private, government school curriculum and Eekal mahila mukti baikalpik vidhayal. In private and government school, their primary goal is to educate the children for the future though the high cost tuition fees and other miscellaneous expenses are optional. Education still nonetheless primarily served children of landlords, businessmen, government leaders, or other elite members of the society and they were the only ones who could easily afford to continue beyond primary school. Many genuine students of general family dropped the school due to poverty engaging their time to work holding the family’s expenditure. And most of the private is urban based and government school are rural area based due to which the quality education differs from place to place. It’s not that there were no private schools in rural area or government schools in urban area but those schools in rural area are of low quality, the quality of instruction was inferior, facilities were very poor, and educational materials were either difficult to find or virtually unavailable. Consequently, if rural families were serious about the education of their children, they were forced to send them to urban areas, a very expensive proposition that the vast majority of rural households could not afford.
The long-standing prejudice against the education of women seemed to be very slowly breaking down. Even if they are able to read, write and speak well in front of any educated one this would be far better than uneducated one. Although there has been a remarkable numerical growth in the literacy rates, as well as the number of education institutions over the years, the quality of education has not necessarily improved. There were some excellent private schools, mostly located in the Kathmandu Valley, but many appeared to be merely money-making ventures rather than serious, devoted educational enterprises.
This is sure that students from these private and government schools will get good and highly paid job, but there are few successful one who can’t read and write. This could be much better if such successful men or women can fluently read and write to others. If you can read and write what is there in papers then nobody can cheat you to some extents. With this objective Eekal mahila mukti aabhiyaan Nepal has introduced Eekal mahila mukti baikalpik vidhayala (single women freedom alternative school) so that our mother wouldn’t be cheated by others. Our mother, sisters, daughter can get job if they can read, write and speak fluently plus they acquire other vocational training. Our mother knows so many things because they doing things practically for years and our small efforts of educating them would be an opportunity for them to flourish. They have got experience and education which is the best qualities for anyone to be success in life. To some extent those educated mothers from these informal schools can compete with students from private and government schools. Students do have educational qualification but they lack behind due to their experience. Our mother would be better in such case. Some of the students have little respect for teachers and professors and were concerned with obtaining a certificate rather than a quality education. In such case our mother would be an excellent example in teaching how to respect other and how to handle each and every critical situation. They learn more by practice then studying. Any mother educated or uneducated can teach their children good aspects, moral things of society; don’t do that, do this. There are lots of things that our parents can teach us because they know so many things due to their years of practice. Only our uneducated mother, sisters and daughters needs a direction and the perfect way is such institution.
Through such institution life can be enhance because your mother, sisters and daughters knows something about alphabets, numbering system, words that is necessary in our practical life and needs to deal with. In the conclusion, educational qualifications do matter in every sector of society enhancing life but the main thing is how much you understood. And the concept of establishing Eekal Mahila Mukti Baikalpik Vidyaalaya and educating our mothers, sisters and daughters those who were deprived of education is the best things in educating our future offspring.

What is ethic?

Ethics is a branch of philosophy that addresses questions about morality—that is, concepts such as good and bad, noble and ignoble, right and wrong, justice, and virtue.

Dictionary definition of ethics: A system of moral values.

In the Greek, "ethos" is defined as "customs."

Act of Creation:

An ethic is a singular, logically deduced, self-created, and self-chosen choice to think and behave as deemed most correct to the individual.

How of Creation:

An ethic is a self-chosen standard of mental behavior based on logic.

Why of Creation:

An ethic is a fixed mental reference-point that logic uses for the associating and weighing of reasoning. As triangulation requires a fixed point of reference, and intelligence exists through analogous association, an ethic is the fixed point for associating.

Behavior of Creation:

All further inward logic and externally expressed behavior is manipulated to conform to and be logically consistent with the self-created ethic.

A good ethic is the inwardly self-chosen act of self-control towards creative self-betterment without regard of external (social) standards.

About Hegel:

Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel was born in Stuttgart on August 27, 1770. His mother has taught him Latin before he began school, but died when he was 11. He was very attached to his sister, Christine, who later developed a manic jealousy of Hegel’s wife when he married at age 40 and committed suicide three months after his death. Hegel was deeply concerned by his sister’s psychosis and developed ideas of psychiatry based on concepts of dialectics.

Hegel soon became thoroughly acquainted with the Greek and Roman classics while studying at the Stuttgart Gymnasium (preparatory school) and was familiar with German literature and science. Encouraged by his father to become a clergyman, Hegel entered the seminary at the University of Tubingen in 1788. There he developed friendships with the poet Friedrich Holderlin and the philosopher Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling. From Holderlin in particular, Hegel developed a profound interest in Greek literature and philosophy. Early on and throughout his life, Hegel recorded and committed to memory everything he read – and he read profusely! Hegel worshipped Goethe and long regarded himself as inferior to his brilliant contemporaries Schelling and Holderlin.

The Germany of Hegel’s time was extremely backward from an economic point of view. Germany was a myriad of tiny, backward states, relatively insulated from the turmoil of Europe. He was an avid reader of Schiller and Rousseau. Hegel was 18 when the Bastille was stormed and the Republic declared in France and Hegel was an enthusiastic supporter of the Revolution, and participated in a support group formed in Tubingen. Hegel finished his first great work, The Phenomenology of Mind on the very eve of the decisive Battle of Jena, in which Napoleon broke the Prussian armies and dismembered the kingdom. French soldiers entered Hegel’s house and set it afire just after he stuffed the last pages of the Phenomenology into his pocket and took refuge in the house of a high official of the town. In the Phenomenology he attempts to understand the revolutionary terror of the Jacobins in terms of their interpretation of Freedom. Hegel celebrated Bastille Day throughout his life.

Hegel died in Berlin on November 14, 1831, during a cholera epidemic.

Hegelian philosophy:

In the process of analyzing the nature of Absolute Spirit, Hegel made significant contributions in a variety of philosophical fields, including the philosophy of history and social ethics. With respect to history, his two key explanatory categories are reason and freedom. “The only Thought”, maintained Hegel, “which Philosophy brings ... to the contemplation of History, is the simple conception of Reason; that Reason is the Sovereign of the world that the history of the world, therefore, presents us with a rational process. “As a rational process, history is a record of the development of human freedom, for human history is a progression from less freedom to greater freedom.”

Hegelian ethic:

Hegel’s social and political views emerge most clearly in his discussion of morality and social ethics. At the level of morality, right and wrong is a matter of individual conscience. One must, however, move beyond this to the level of social ethics, for duty, according to Hegel, is not essentially the product of individual judgment. Individuals are complete only in the midst of social relationships; thus, the only context in which duty can truly exist is a social one. Hegel considered membership in the state one of the individual’s highest duties. It is moreover more than the sum of its citizens.

Ideally, the state is the manifestation of the general will, which is the highest expression of the ethical spirit. Obedience to this general will is the act of a free and rational individual.

Hegel said that ‘truth is subjective,’ thus rejecting the existence if any ‘truth’ above or beyond human reason. All knowledge is human knowledge…..human knowledge is constantly expanding and progressing that is something new is always being added. The history of thought or of reason is like river. The thoughts that are washed along with the current of past tradition, as well as the material conditions prevailing at the time, help to determine how you think. You can therefore never claim that any particular thought is correct forever and ever. But the thought can be corrected from where you stand. You can say some things can be right or wrong in relation to a certain historical context. If you advocate slavery today, you would at best be thought foolish. But you wouldn’t have been considered foolish 2500 years ago, even though there were already progressive voices in favor of slavery abolition. Another we can take local example, not more than 100 years ago it was not considered unreasonable to burn off large areas of forest in order to cultivate the land. But it is extremely unreasonable today.

According to Hegel, anybody who studies history will see that humanity has advanced toward ever increasing self knowledge and self development. The study of history shows that humanity is moving toward greater rationality and freedom.

Hegel’s dialectic is not only applicable to history other field as well. History is one long chain of reflections. Hegel also indicated certain rules that apply for this chain of reflections. Anyone studying history in depth will observe that a thought is usually proposed on the basis of other, previously proposed thoughts. But as soon as one thought is proposed, it will be contradicted by another. A tension arises between these two opposite ways of thinking. But the tension is resolved by the proposal of a third thought which accommodates the best of both points of view. This is dialectic process. Hegelian dialectic process contain three stage; thesis, antithesis and synthesis. When we discuss something, we think dialectically. We try to find flaws in the argument. Hegel called that a ‘negative thinking’. For example when a socialist and a conservative sit down together to resolve a social problem, a tension will quickly be revealed between their conflicting modes of thought. But this does not mean that one is absolutely right and the other totally wrong. It is possible that they are both partly right and partly wrong. And as the argument evolves, the best of both arguments will often crystallize.

The dialectical method involves the notion that movement, or process, or progress, is the result of the conflict of opposites. Traditionally, this dimension of Hegel’s thought has been analyzed in terms of the categories of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. Hegel’s further claim that the Absolute must ultimately be regarded as pure Thought, or Spirit, or Mind, in the process of self-development. The logic that governs this developmental process is dialectic.

According to Heiner Meulemann mass media are defined as media which have their proper program and constitute their own audience. Mass media research, accordingly, deals with the production of programs and the consumption of the audience. For both perspectives, research topics are justified, data sources are introduced, and recommendation for the research infrastructure are given. As for media production, the establishment of a central media content archive is recommended where content analytic time series of public agencies as well as of individual researchers are collected. Furthermore, the development of a unified content analytical system and the promotion of cross-national comparisons are recommended. As for media consumption, the provision of privately funded data for the scientific community, the promotion of cross-national comparisons and the linkage of programs and audience data are recommended.
There are various ways of doing research like qualitative research methods, content analysis, survey research, experimental research etc. The effectiveness of mass media messages is measured through research techniques that are widely recognized in the social sciences and in business. Depending your media literacy:

explore the issue : find someone who has been asked to participate in a public opinion poll.
Dig deeper : Ask about the reliability of the information given to the polling company. Were answers based on recollection? Ask the person how completely he or she collected the information. Was it merely from memory or recollection?
